We looked at several video cameras and decided the Flip UltraHD (4 GB) is the best kids video camera. We also looked at the Flip MinoHD, the Kodak Playsport Zx3, and the Bloggie Touch. They were all nice, but the ease of use of the 4 GB UltraHD makes it the best choice for a young child. Take a look at my review and see for yourself.

If you're thinking about buying a Flip Camcorder, read this first. I have both the Flip UltraHD and the Kodak Playsport Zx3 (both current are latest versions) and the Zx3 is a better value for the money. Among other advantages over the UltraHD, the Zx3 is waterproof.
