Orang-utans live in Sumatra and Borneo. The name comes from the Malayan language and it means 'Man of Woods'. It is not a fast swinger. It moves slowly on all fours. The male lives a solitary live and only seeks the female at mating times. The female lives with her young ones. The male is twice the size of the female and weighs up to 90kg.
