If you are wondering what is the name of the Common Trigger Fish Caught in South New Jersey Shore is I would have to think it is the Gray trigger fish. Yes, this is more or less my opinion based on fishing in Cape May County, NJ, but overwhelmingly, or I should say exclusively, I have only caught Gray triggerfish.
Gray Triggerfish are gray in appearance versus their more colorful relatives. The Gray's run about 12-16" in length. They have tiny mouths with strong jaws for eating shrimp, crab and other shell creatures.
How possible is it to catch triggerfish on land in Cape May County, New Jersey? I wrote an article that looks at some success I have had fishing for this fun to catch and delicious to eat fish. Check it out. I linked the post below and also linked the post to the title above. Hope you enjoy.
If you go to the site, please check out some of my other posts. It might make your next trip to the South Jersey beaches more fun.
