Where will your money end up?

With more than 30 million Brits without a will there is no telling what will happen to the billions of pounds in assets when they die.

More than 30 million Brits don't have a will, research from Unbiased.co.uk reveals. However, 92% of people say they know who they want to receive their assets when they pass away.

And that means there's a problem, because unless you do something about it, your money could end up somewhere you really don't want it to go.

To leave someone out of inheriting your estate you can not leave them out of your Will. If you do not mention them, they can raise an inference that your forgetting was accidental. They will be able to make a claim on your estate, as if you forgot you had a brother, or husband, or son, etc.

To disinherit a person, that is to make sure they take nothing on your death, you must specifically mention this.

A proper Will completely disposes of all the property held by the Testator without ambiguity. Persons who are being left out are mentioned as being left our, and a contemptuous sum, such as $1.00 is bequeathed to avoid the possibility of someone claiming the lacuna was accidental.
