Trayvon Martin was shot on Feb. 26 by George Zimmerman, a self-appointed neighborhood watch captain, while he was visiting his father in Sanford, Florida. Martin left his father’s home to buy Skittles and iced tea when he was spotted and pursued by Zimmerman. A scuffle ensued and resulted in the death of seventeen-year-old Trayvon. Zimmerman, who maintains that he acted in self-defense, has not been arrested.

“Game Change” Review: Sarah Palin et al and the Republican Party
For some conservatives, Game Change, HBO’s adaptation of the book by the same name concentrating only on Sarah Palin’s vice presidential run, amounts to nothing more but a partisan smear. Sarah Palin denounced the film as inaccurate and claimed that she did not plan to watch it. I on the other hand, particularly as a staunch liberal, could not wait to see it. I was not disappointed. Julianne Moore did an incredible job as Sarah Palin and actually made me feel some sympathy for the shockingly unqualified would-be vice president.

Birthers sue Esquire
The magazine Esquire is facing a lawsuit brought upon them by two birthers. The magazine published an article back in May of 2011, criticizing a book about president Obama's birth issue. The two men who wrote the book feels that they have been defamed and their book sales suffered. The men are seeking around $260 million in damages.

Are the outcome of presidential debates a good factor in determining a presidential candidate?
I think it is one factor in determing who you most agree with, because at the end of the day that's really what electing a president, or any political figure for that matter should be based on. How close to your ideology is HIS or HER ideology. You have to be able to set aside your political leanings, and listen to what is being said, and then do even more due dilligence to sift through what's being said, read between the lines, and use OTHER sources, including the historical record, to get as close to the truth as you can.
