The Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute was built in thanksgiving after Venice was delivered from a plague, after nearly a third of its 150,000 citizen had died. Whether or not the plague was abated through divine intersection, or because of the onset of colder water, is not known.

Portoroz is a synonymous for elite coastal tourism.
Later in history, Portoroz experienced the arrival of the Byzantines, Lombards and Slavs, and the town began to connect with the Venetian Republic, which also lead to the arrival of Benedictine monks. They built the first Benedictine monasteries in the area. The church of Rosary Mary was built in Portoroz around 13th century. The harbor in the immediate vicinity was named after the church (Portus sanctae Mariae de Rosa), after this, later the city probably got its name.

Linderhof was a small palace and King Ludig built it out with a lot of copying the Palace of Versailles - as a matter of fact the Hall of Mirror is a replica but even bigger than in Versailles - he adored King Louis XIV who was a great builder - Linderhof was the only one of his building which he saw finished - Linderhof is in Bavaria, Germany
