Luna Viewer, From ShoopedLife to FlexLife to Luna

The Luna Viewer is a new Third Party Viewer for Second Life that is currently being developed by the creator of ShoopedLife, a griefing viewer, which was later renamed to FlexLife, after removing the griefing and bandodging functions or features (or whatever developers call them), and again renamed to Luna Viewer, after the TPV fiasco. I’m really just paraphrasing here but I’ve quoted the author of the viewer below. LOL!

Emerald Viewer Blocked, Emerald Is Dead Or Is It? Phoenix?

The Emerald Viewer, Second Life’s most popular Third Party Viewer, received its final nail on its coffin today when Linden Lab announced on their blog that it will be blocked from accessing the Second Life grid “as of 10am PT Wednesday, September 8, 2010″. For me, this announcement was not really that surprising. The Emerald Viewer Team already announced their own demise last week when everything simply blew up on their faces. They were not able to comply with Linden Lab’s requirements and, eventually, it destroyed them from the inside.

Cool VL Viewer, From Legacy to Windlight Renderer

When I started using this computer, the only Second Life viewer that will run on it is the Legacy Renderer version of the Cool VL Viewer which is based on Second Life Viewer version 1.19.0.5. That was before I installed my old video card. Installing it greatly improved the graphics performance of this computer and, because of that, I’ve decided to switch from the Legacy Renderer (SL 1.19.0.5) version of Cool VL Viewer to the Windlight Renderer (SL 1.23.5) version of Cool VL Viewer.

Kitty Viewer by Katharine Berry

Katharine Berry, the teen wonder who created AjaxLife (an AJAX based SL client) and Megaprim.SL (a search engine for megaprims), released her own version of the Second Life Viewer aptly named Kitty Viewer and it is based on Second Life Viewer 2 with its really dreadful interface, LOL.
