St Patrick is revered in Irish culture. His burial site is visited by thousands every year. Down Cathedral is the favored site, it is in Down-Patrick 33 km south of Belfast. His reputed grave is marked by a flat granite stone inscribed with ‘PATRIC’. His burial is the subject of Irish folk songs such as; “In Down, three Saints one grave do fill, Patrick, Brigid and Columcille.”
