I have never played the game of tennis but have long been a fan, like any other person in England I get all excited when I see Andy Murray reach another grand slam final but like Tim Henman before him he has thus far failed to deliver the goods when they are required. I know Andy Murray is a great Tennis player and I am not denying that.

The Australian Open starting on Monday is dominated by the question if Rafael Nadal will be able to finalise an (irregular) Grand Slam and win the fourth Grand Slam title in a row to do so. His opponents, though, are just waiting for a slip.

Swiss tennis player and show jumper Martina Hingis has married French show jumper Thibault Hutin in a private ceremony in Paris. The wedding was a family affair, but a major white wedding is planned for next summer.
