It was recently reported by the CW network that their hit series “Smallville” will return for a tenth and final season. The cast of this remarkably durable show has changed over the years, but two things have remained constant: 1) Clark still can’t fly, and 2) the ladies in the cast have always been strong and beautiful. Lois, Lana, Kara, Tess, and Chloe have graced the small screen for the last decade, and even Mrs. Kent is extremely attractive. What these comic characters might lack in sophistication, they more than make up for in charm.

The CW Network announced that Smallville will return for a tenth and final season in the fall of 2010. Fans know how Clark's life is supposed to progress; they’re tuning in to see how it happens. The Smallville writers will satisfy viewers if they anticipate what we want to see and give it to us. Case in point: Tom Welling said from the outset that he never wanted to wear the Superman costume. That’s certainly understandable, but if he doesn’t put on the red and blue tights at least once, the viewers will be disappointed.

Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze

I loved Doc Savage as a kid.
I think I read every Doc Savage novel that was reprinted by Bantam Books in the 1960s and 1990s.
Doc was a superhero...kinda.
He didn't wear a costume, and he had powers beyond those of mortal men, but not really.
Now through DC comics "First Wave", a whole new generation is getting introduced to The Man of Bronze via a new world that has pulp and noir heroes, but no super-powers.
So let's go back and look at this Olympian figure that inspired many of yesterday's (and today's) super heroes.
