While each country has its own unique beauty and charm, the following destinations in Asia are on the very top of my list: Thailand, Tibet, Cambodia and the Maldives.

THAILAND
Thailand is about the size of France, or slightly smaller than Texas. One interesting fact about the country is that it is the only country in south-east Asia never subject to colonial rule. Thailand is a constitutional monarchy, and its king Bhumibol Adulyadej is the world’s longest ruling monarch (since 1946), as well as the richest, with a net worth of about 30 billion dollars. Any visit to Thailand should include a few days in Bangkok to see the spectacular Grand Palace (modestly dressed of course), the Floating Market, and for naughty travelers the infamous Patpong Night Market located in the city’s red light district. Please beware that Thailand has a serious problem with the trafficking of women and children for the purposes of prostitution. Those who want to frolic on the beach, enjoy the white sand and the turquoise water should not miss the East Coast Islands (Koh Samui and Koh Phangan), and Railay located in the southern province of Phang Nga famous for the so-called James Bond Island which featured in the 1974 movie The Man with the Golden Gun.
