There is nothing like a pretty waterfall to bring you closer to nature. Pretty 120ft Mingo Falls is just one example in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Blue Ridge Parkway area. The setting is quiet and the tourism traffic light especially in the morning hours.

Now that I am living in Albuquerque I think I will be totally in love with all seasons but fall I believe will always be my favorite. Last fall we lived in east Tennessee so a trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway was very convenient. Here are a few photos and links to some of our favorite stops along the way. If you live close to there, if you're going to be traveling through or if you are looking for a beautiful autumn road trip I strongly recommend the parkway.
