Kathmandu is a city filled with tourists and enthusiastic, hard-working locals. When I first decided to head to the Himalayas, my expectations echoed the very ambiance of a documentary that I had watched on the historical Lhasa city so with the thrilling anticipation we charted out our visit to the lands of the monks.
ARRIVING AT TRIBHUVAN AIRPORT, Nepal
Me and my accomplice, my husband of 3 years, opted to save on air fare and flew by Air Arabia directly to Nepal from Sharjah in the Middle East, without any stop-over’s . Initially the compactness of the air carrier unnerved me but upon settling into my window seat, I was soon satisfied. The meal of hot Barbecue chicken, Cheese Tacos and Potato Wedges for a mere 5 dollars also diminished our hunger pangs mid-air.
Although famously known to awe and inspire globe-trotters, my first vision of the Kathmandu valley held less charm. Little was I to know that in the moments that followed, a lenient, smart but shabbily dressed cab driver would escort us to the very heart of Bhaktapur, a small city within the Kathmandu valley which illustrated a picturesque environment of the rural life of the Nepalese and was much devoid of the modernism, crowded and fast-paced city of Kathmandu.

Himalaya Calling - Kathmandu Valley Tour 2 years 24 weeks ago: Nepal is renowned for housing the much afamed Mount Everest and besides being one of the poorest countries on the globe, has a booming tourism industry. On a weeks visit to this multi-cultured and historical city, we were appalled at the many chronological monuments and sites throughout the vast capital of Kathmandu, which is roughly 1337m above sea level and heavily stacks locals, cross-breeds, immigrants, trekkers, tourists and globe-trotters in its embrace.

POKHARA,NEPAL 27 weeks 4 days ago: Pokhara is a remarkable place for natural beauty at an altitude of 827 m above mean sea level & 200 km west of Kathmandu. This city is ever known as a real paradise in Earth. The Valley is filled with swift flowing river and dotted with clear gleaming lakes. It is blessed with the back drop is the most dramatic sceneries in world. A 140km of panoramic Himalayan ranges seem close enough to be touched. But also can be felt.

Kathmandu streets sandwiched between the snowy white Himalayas are at all times busy, chaotic and full of vibrant colors. Hawkers, dusty roads, the rush of motorbikes and the crowds of people remind visitors of a valley range screaming with life and portraying the very different beliefs and customs that this Valley range is filled with.
