Don't be so hasty in deleting your photos especially in this digital age. You may still be able to use your photos and turn them into works of art.
Have you tried using the many filters of Photoshop? These filters can be used to create abstract art or painting like effects in your photos. You can especially do some experiments or playing around with some of your photos that you are not happy with.
Why don't you follow some of the steps outlined in this article?
Try opening a photo in Photoshop then click on Filter>Distort>Polar Coordinates>Rectangular to Polar. What happened to your photo? Did you see something different? Did you like what you see? If you did, then you can save your photo as a different file.
If you are not so happy with the results of your first experiment, then try going back one step and click on Polar to Rectangular instead. What is the result? Does your photo look better?
Everything really depends on your original photo. What are the elements in it? Are there several separate elements? Are there several colors? Your "abstract art" will usually look better if your original photo has several elements or different colors in it. When you convert the photo to abstract art, it appears more pleasing to the eye.
