It looks like female MMA fans will really have something to look forward to in June.
According to Daniel Herbertson over at MMAfighting.com, one of the best (if not THE best) female mixed martial arts fighters in the world, Megumi Fujii will fight at the June 10 Bellator event.
Bellator hasn't picked an opponent yet, but Megumi's apearance seems to be a sure thing.

Mika was born on December 29th, 1983 in Gifu, Gifu, Japan.
She's five foot three and weighs 114 pounds.
Mika's nickname is "Future Princess", and by the pictures, you can probably tell why.
I know it's been awhile since I have done a female MMA fighter here.
But you know they are fit, because mixed martial arts training can be just as grueling as training for fitness or bodybuilding.

2010 was a pretty good year for female mixed martial arts.
There were a lot of matches between top ranked opponents, some promotions held tournaments for their womens titles and maybe the women are beginning to win some begrudging respect from MMA fans that thought women had no place in MMA.
Well maybe with the exception of UFC president Dana White who still says that women will "never" be in the UFC.

Of course I figured a lot of them had no training and they looked good because of very skilled stunt people.
(I have a world of respect for stuntmen and women)
But what surprised me was that a lot of the female stars did have at least some martial arts training.
