Bookmark and Share Astral Mystery Endures in Nova Scotia Church

Parishioners attending church tonight in Lunenburg Nova Scotia Canada will have a mystery to gaze upon. In 2001 the church suffered a devestating fire, but has since been repaired. The ceiling is a replica of the Perseus star system and has been there since the church was first dedicated in 1754. The mystery becomes apparent when it is realised the 'when and where' of the constellation.

Hi, this is fascinating! The only thing I can think of is that the original person who did it was very much ahead of his time. Or it could have been one of the famous astronomers that were around then. There is so much in history that shows we are not the only ones to have such knowledge about the stars and there past configurations. look at the egyptians and the piramids. They are aligned in a way that we still cannot understand how they did it. interesting story. thanks
