Anyone who was following the Casey Anthony case undoubtedly knows by now she was acquitted of the charge of murdering her daughter Caylee. Shocked and outraged citizens have been talking nonstop about the case and the outcome on social media sites like Twitter and Facebook. Most recently, a petition was started by a Durant, Oklahoma woman in an attempt to enact a new law making it a federal offense for a parent or guardian not to notify law enforcement authorities of a missing child in a timely manner.
Michelle Crowder, began the petition two days ago and already has 75000 signatures added. Crowder told a local news station, "I am hoping that this will be made into a federal law so that no other child's life, disappearance, and/or death is treated in the manner that poor Caylee's was treated," Crowder said. "No child deserves that."
If you’re not a Facebook member that’s okay because you can visit the Change.org website and sign the petition there. The site also provides a widget code for website owners to conveniently paste on their website.
