America is playing the role of catalyst in shaping the Pakistan’s perspective of the world. Historically major chunk of Pakistani society comprises very old fashioned people having firm and rigid beliefs on certain values. This section of society has been feeling difficulty to accept the new realities of life. World has changed a lot over the last many decades but this society is still living in Middle Ages.
A very big and massive incident of death of Osama bin laden on 2nd May2011 has shaken their beliefs/myth regarding their security agencies/establishment. As majorities of Pakistanis are uneducated and unaware of modern state of art war machinery and they have been continuously kept in dark so this kind of event has shocking effect on their psychology. All of a sudden they are thrown into real world.
A very small section of Pakistani society has always been aware of changing global situation around them but their voices have always been unnoticed. They were continuously raising voices regarding freedom of speech and democratic values but due to very less investment on human resource development they always have little effect. These voices were facing very difficult situation in convincing other sections of society to move forward and to change the behavior of sticking with past history.
A vibrant free media alongwith American policy is catalyzing the boiling pot of Pakistani society. Due to wide spread cable television channels peoples are now raising more and more questions and old myths are breaking down.
A very fierce battle is being fought in the minds of Pakistani peoples where on one side old fashioned and cultural flaws are being exposed and on the other side peoples are finding it very hard to accept the realities of life.
Pakistani society is on crossroad of history therefore it is responsibility of western nations and specially Americans to come forward and help Pakistani society to take a step forward and get rid themselves of the burden and shadows of history. These shadows of history have caused unbearable loss to civilized society. If developed nations and America does not accept the responsibility and realize massive human element involved they will not be safe in their own countries. The infection will spread like a wild fire and countless human lives will be at stake and no one knows the amount of suffering lying ahead.
American is required to remain engaged in the region and play their positive part in transforming the Pakistani society into a real world society. At present majority of population is living in land of fantasies and looking vigorously in the past to solve their problems. As they are bound to find no solutions in history so desperation will be great and it is the right time to present them a better future and win their hearts and souls.
With the increasing influence of free media and more and more American actions like the one taken on 2nd may 2011 will transform the society compelling to think with logic and reason. Scientific method and approach will prevail once beliefs and myths are shattered resulting ultimately a better Pakistani society.
