Tharyn was incorrect in assuming that I slept in my office; actually, I slept in a coffin in the basement of the Guthrie…inspired, no doubt, by my reading of Dracula recently…and, of course, by my discovery of a cool hearse with coffin included.
To prevent an Edgar Allen Poe ending to my life, i.e. see his The Premature Burial, I had removed the locking mechanism from the outside and created one for the inside. It had some breathing holes to keep the air fresh and some miniature air conditioning, so I assumed that it must have been designed as a prop of some play, movie…or something. It was just too comfortable and included a reading light. The only problem was that it obliged me to sleep on my back and I tend to snore…which woke me up a lot until I found a pack of ear plugs, so now it’s pretty cool.
