They apply the river clay to the pots, then paint on the intricate patterns using liquid wax emulsion, and finally several layers of different glazes are applied.

Mocha pottery dates back to 18th Centry England. The process illistrates organic, tree-like images which are a characteristic of mocha-ware pottery. The pottery is decorated with a mixture of tobacco and metal oxides.
