Many nurses try very hard during the holidays not to catch cold. This blog explores the myths surrounding the common cold that exist today. One that we didn't particular agree on is that if you are run down you don't have a higher chance of catching cold. Your immune system tends to be worn down if you don't get proper rest. The best advice too is to get plenty of fluids as water helps your body produce mucus. The mucus is used by your body to fight the cold by making your coughs more productive.
