Autism is having an impact on more and more families, as an increasing number of children are being diagnosed with this developmental disorder. Obviously a tremendous amount of research has been devoted to understanding it and trying to find some kind of cure, much remains a mystery about it. This article will talk about a few factors that some professionals feel, or believe, can possibly have a hand in the appearance of autism.
Autism may be helped along the way by the heavy use of pesticides according to some researchers. There have been studies that show an increased incidence of autism in children whose mothers lived near areas where particular pesticides used. Similarly, it has also been suggested that when a mother has been exposed to certain common ingredients in antiflea and antitick products for pets, that her children are more likely to be autistic. It's just that parents need to be extra careful about what they are exposed to in the family formation years.
Some individuals are under the assumption that autism is induced by electromagnetic fields (EMF). The ubiquity of EMFs is very recent, which could lead to the explanation as to why such a rise in autism over the past few decades.
EMFs happen because of cell phones, electrical outlets, and Wi-Fi, among other factors. What negative aftermath, if any, which has resulted from EMFs has not been kept track of very well. At this point, the belief that electromagnetic fields could be a contributor of autism is still abstract in though, although it is something that is worth looking into more. Most of the technology that we are so addicted to is still quite new and a lot of scientists haven't even had the time to analyze it and find the ways that it is harming us.
There are many possible causes of autism. One of the less trendy theories, but one that may still have value, is that TV might be an instigator or contributing factor of autism. There are lots of parents who choose to set their really young kids, even their babies, right in front of the television screen for hours upon hours. The tangible effects of sitting in front of a television for hours upon hours, especially for really young children, is not totally understood, however it does tend to create a trance like state. Some studies imply that overexposure to television, DVD, or a computer screen, specifically in children below three years old, could make autism happen. Like many aspects of autism, however, this needs to be studied further before we can say with certainty that television is a cause of autism.

With so many types of autism, it is hard to say that they all have the same cause. In this case, research continues to determine the cause. It is even feasible to conclude that the many causes of autism will eventually be linked to genetics or even environmental toxins. Theories abound for the cause of autism, these factors are a few that many scientists beleive now.
