We live in a toxic world. Every day we come into contact with chemicals and substances that are not compatible with good health. Of particular concern are heavy metals. The most common types of heavy metal poisoning occur from exposure to mercury, lead, and arsenic.

Often exposure happens in the work place, but even in the safety of our own homes there is risk of heavy metal poisoning. Children are particularly at risk for lead poisoning from lead based paints. Lead based paints were actually banned in 1978, but it is estimated that over half of all residences in the U.S. still contain traces of the toxic metal. As lead paint deteriorates it turns into lead laced house dust. Children consumer the dust when they put their hands or toys in their mouths.

Lead poisoning will cause learning or behavioral disablities often without any other symptoms. Heavy metal poisoning is a serious disease. People of all ages and economic backgrounds are at risk.
