The best characterization of magic (alternately spelled "magick") was stated by the British writer and scientist Arthur C. Clarke when he said, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic". Clark was describing scientific possibilities - things that may and possibly do exist.

And, in fact, magic is a science that is beyond the comprehension of the masses. This was as true centuries ago just as it is now.

It is my contention that those in power have always wanted to destroy magicians because we understand what they are up to. The controllers are and always have been dark wizards who pose as Christians and upstanding political figures while they engage, either secretly or openly, in atrocities. Those at the top of the pyramid of power and those who control their technological secrets understand the science of magic.
