The House Sparrow was once a very common British bird but it has been disappearing from many towns and cities in its former range. The House Sparrow is a very social bird that forms flocks and has communal roosting places and was a regular visitor to gardens as well as being often seen perched on roofs of houses and other buildings. The House Sparrow's chirp was a familiar sound of the cities in the UK. Cats, pesticides and even mobile phones and EMF radiation have been blamed for the decline of the House Sparrow. According to the RSPB the House Sparrow is now on the Red List.
