It looks as though it was just Joe Mcelderry last year who took the blow from people who are anti X Factor when they launched the campaign to derail his chance of becoming Christmas number one.

I admittedly have never heard this song before that I know of. Matt Cardle did such a beautiful performance of this song tonight that I now feel the need to google the original version. Matt Cardle has to get through to the finals of this years X factor.
He did a similar thing to what Joe Mcelderry did to me last year, which is make me fall in love with a song I've never heard before purely because of the way they sang it.
Joe Mcelderry's version of Open arms on last years X factor gave me goosebumps and it is still one of my favourite ever performances on The X factor.

Matt Cardle stole the X Factor live show 5 with his version of The first time ever I saw your face. The notes he reached were extraordinary, especially for a guy who’s voice broke years a go. He has the voice like a choir boy. Similar to that of James Blunt, but probably can reach higher notes.

Since 2004, 'The X Factor' has been entertaining British audiences and discovering new singing talent. Prior to that, 'Pop Idol' was doing a similar job. And then there's 'Britain's Got Talent'!

Some very well known names names have done very well indeed as a result of appearing on these shows. Leona Lewis is but one. Then there's Alexandra Burke and JLS. The latest X Factor winner, Matt Cardle, has a great voice.
