Fans and collectors love memorabilia like Godzilla DVD collections and Godzilla action figures from all times. There are some fans who act as if there hasn’t been a good Godzilla movie made since the 1960s. Heck, there are even a small minority who stick up for Dean Devlin’s American Godzilla, although from what I’ve seen on message boards, saying that you like that movie is akin to dowsing your credibility as a fan in kerosene and lighting it on fire. Yup, we Godzilla fans are a surprisingly diverse bunch.

It is also well known that true Godzilla fans are not too happy with US versions of their icon and prefer the “authentic” Japanese versions (in fact, the 1998 US Godzilla was called “Zilla”, thus implying it is not a real Godzilla). The Japanese way calls for rubber suits and cardboard cities in the movies. Thus, the Godzilla Action figures should look alike the movies characters. This is very important, because merchandise like the Godzilla Action Figures represent a big business for movie companies.

After “Godzilla: Final Wars”(2004), Godzilla was officially put into retirement by Toho Studios, again. Well, now it’s time for America to take another shot at making a Godzilla film.

At the end of March 2010, Legendary Pictures along with Warner Brothers Studios announced they are planning to revive the international icon in a new Godzilla movie in 2012. Past collaborations between the two studios have produced such films as “The Dark Knight”, “300”, and “Hangover”.

Regarding the new Godzilla movie in 2012, Godzilla fans couldn’t wait for more Godzilla DVD posters and new Godzilla action figures. Long time Godzilla fans, however, don’t want “just” another Jurassic Park-like movie in this new remake.

Godzilla action figures fans know they will have a new Godzilla DVD soon. There will be a new Hollywood Godzilla movie in 2012. Should we get ready for a party of new Godzilla DVD covers and new Godzilla action figures? The answer is, yes, absolutely, of course. But actually, that is not the real question.
