Except for Michael Keusch’s action movies starring Steven Seagal, all shot in Bucharest, Romania. I’ve already reviewed “Flight of Fury” and “Attack Force”. “Shadow Man” is the third and last one, and well, it’s actually slightly better than the other two--but that doesn’t say very much.

The other day, I re-watched “Above the Law” (released in Europe as “Nico”); Steven Seagal’s first movie from 1988. And I realized something: Seagal’s hairline in his debut feature is quite thin. And it’s even thinner in the next movie, 1990’s “Hard to Kill”. But if you look at him now, he’s got more and thicker hair than ever.

In my reviews, I’ve written that it looks like Steven Seagal is wearing some kind of Davy Crockett hat or maybe a beret. A friend wrote in one of his reviews that it looks like Seagal only has one, very thick straw of hair.

You know what it’s like. Sometimes you want to watch a Steven Seagal-flick--but you don’t really want to watch Steven Seagal. Well, here’s the perfect movie for you! You see, although “Flight of Fury” was co-written and executive produced by Steven Seagal, he’s hardly in this movie. And when he does appear, you can’t be sure it really is him. You see, sometimes when you see him from behind, it’s a stand-in. And sometimes when he speaks, his voice is dubbed by somebody else. I’m not sure if we can refer to this as “movie magic”.

These days it’s sometimes hard to remember that Steven Seagal actually had a career in big-budget movies; he was a star in movies that actually played movie theaters all over the world, and were produced and distributed by Warner Brothers.

“The Glimmer Man” was one of his final theatrical releases, before the comeback -- sort of -- in Robert Rodriguez’s “Machete”, in which he’s great as the main bad guy. And to be honest, it feels a tad odd watching “The Glimmer Man” after plowing through buckets of Seagal's direct-to-DVD-fare.
