Ovation guitars are fine guitars - it's just that lots of die hard acoustic guitar nuts aren't going to go for them, as they are partially plastic. There truly are not "back and sides" this is a round plastic back - no sides.
For this reason - whether or not these are really acoustic guitars, or not - is sort of questioned sometimes.
Guess what? Ovation guitars have their own niche carved out in the world of guitars and musicians - they ARE acoustic guitars, but they are stage guitars.
The Ovation Legend guitar was designed by Al Di Meola, one of the most interesting and technically proficient guitarist in the entire world. He tours the entire planet with his Ovation Legend, and if that isn't enough to convince you that it's a fine guitar - then there's no convincing you, and you are a fool.
I mostly play guitar while sitting down in a chair, and posture is important while playing whether you are standing or sitting. For this reason, I have slight issues with guitars like the Ovation Legend. There are no sides - but a rounded back, and so the thing tends to not want to sit up straight in my lap like I think that it should. Al Di Meola doesn't have that problem. Nobody has that problem if they only put a strap on the thing, and stand up and play.
The guitar has a AAA grade solid spruce top, and some outstanding electronics, a pre amp, and a high output pickup. All you need, after purchasing an Ovation Legend guitar, is a cord, and amplifier, and an audience. Hopefully, you'll be able to play the thing a bit, and not make me, and Al Di Meola upset with your playing.
Cheers for your day, and to the Ovation Legend Guitar!
