Psycho (1960): This is the one that truly began the serial killer genre in films. Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho turns 50 next year, but it still is a quite disturbing film in so many ways. Again, better than the later remake from 1998. Anthony Perkins does a perfect job as the seemingly weak Norman Bates, secretly a psychotic who at times believes he is his mother and as her must murder people to protect herself and him. If you are turning to this movie for the first time, don’t expect the more modern take on slasher films. You won’t find a masked madman chasing teens through the woods.

Calling “Night of Fear” a movie is a bit misleading. At least calling it a feature film. Bourke’s film runs only about 54 minutes or so. This is because this was supposed to be the pilot episode of a new horror TV series called “Fright”. This film has typical “TV opening titles” which clips from the film we’re about to see, and title cards scream “Fright”, “Night of Fear” and “Created by Terry Bourke”.

Just like what the title of this post says, I just watched the original Tron movie in YouTube. I was a very young boy when I first saw the original Tron movie and, honestly, I kinda didn’t understand the whole story of the movie back then. If I remember it correctly, to me it was more about the special effects and the idea of actually playing your favorite game from within the game.

For some reason, I had pretty high hopes for this little movie. I’m not sure where, but I seem to remember having read good reviews of “Psychosis”.

This is a low-budget ($1.2 million) British horror thriller, directed by a guy called Reg Traviss, who also co-wrote the screenplay, but it stars American Charisma Carpenter, who was Cordelia on TV’s “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”. Carpenter plays Susan Golden, a crime novelist from California, who’s married to a British bloke; David (Paul Sculfor). The two of them move into an old house, apparently in the middle of a forest somewhere in England

I haven’t watched the original “Night of the Demons” from 1988 in a very long time, probably more than fifteen years, and since I’ve done away with all of my VHS tapes, I can’t re-watch it at the moment.
