Godzilla 2012: A New Godzilla Movie Is Coming!

Attention Godzilla Fans!

After “Godzilla: Final Wars”(2004), Godzilla was officially put into retirement by Toho Studios, again. Well, now it’s time for America to take another shot at making a Godzilla film.

At the end of March 2010, Legendary Pictures along with Warner Brothers Studios announced they are planning to revive the international icon in a new Godzilla movie in 2012. Past collaborations between the two studios have produced such films as “The Dark Knight”, “300”, and “Hangover”.

Fans and collectors love memorabilia like Godzilla DVD collections and Godzilla action figures from all times. However, despite Godzilla remained actual, nobody seemed interested in creating a new Godzilla film. Even Godzilla fans were convinced that no new Godzilla movies will be available after Godzilla Final Wars in 2004. But if Japan would not release a new film, Hollywood could.

After going into official retirement in Japan after Godzilla: Final Wars, it seems America will take another chance at making a Godzilla movie. It was announced that Legendary Pictures in conjunction with Warner Brothers will co-produce a new Godzilla movie for 2012. The new movie will not be a sequel to Sony's 1998 "Godzilla". This comes as good news to G-fans who were rather dissapointed with the Godzilla in that film. Legendary pictures stated a commitment to honor the original Godzilla. There is no director....

Godzilla (ゴジラ, Gojira) is a series of giant monster films starring Godzilla, a Japanese creation usually portrayed by a man in a latex rubber suit. Starting in 1954, the Godzilla series has become one of the longest running film series in movie history.

The first film, Godzilla, was first released in the United States in 1955 in Japanese-American communities only. In 1956, it was adapted by an American company into Godzilla, King of the Monsters!, edited and with added principal scenes featuring Raymond Burr, and this version became an international success.

King Kong vs Godzilla is the third of the Toho (the company that created Godzilla) Godzilla films. The movie represents a turning point in the Godzilla series because it moves away from the pure horror and serious tone of the previous films. King Kong vs Godzilla is like a fantasy movie mixed with a humor movie. There was a price to pay, however. Toho had to give up the realism so the fights and destruction were more fun.

Godzilla action figures are a franchise product. The franchise owner is Toho, the Japanese company that created Godzilla in 1954. Toho does not make the Godzilla action figures on its own, but licenses manufacturing companies to do so. This makes these Godzilla toys true collection pieces.

2001's Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah, Giant Monster's All-Out Attack or GMK for short is the best Godzilla flm of all time. It features four classic Japanese monsters, but like you've never seen them before. This is the darkest and probably strongest incarnation of Godzilla ever filmed. It's one of the most original Godzilla films, too. It was directed by Shusuke Kaneko who made the Gamera trilogy of the 1990's. While Godzilla was still actual and fresh in people's mind and Godzilla action figures were as popular as ever, Toho decided to close this chapter. For most fans, it was too early to end of this character. So early, in fact, that there was a Japanese Toho-independent effort to make a newGodzilla movie in 3D. But it wasn't Toho the one making a new movie... and that is to worry Godzilla fans.
