After 2002, the now WWE entered what a lot of wrestling fans consider the "dark days".
Oh the popularity of the Divas kept going up to be sure, but a lot of these new women came from model agencies, swimsuit magazines and of course...The Diva Search.

But the WWE didn't totally turn it's back on real wrestling.
On the June 30, 2002 edition of Monday Night Raw, Gail Kim debuted and she promptly won a seven-woman battle royal in Buffalo, New York for the WWE Women's Championship.
This made Gail the first woman of Korean descent to win the WWE Women's Championship belt.

Former WWE Diva Maria (Maria Kanellis) was born on February 25th, 1982 in Ottawa, Illinois.
Maria is a former female pro wrestler and backstage interviewer, who formerly worked for WWE's RAW brand.
She also made regular appearances in WWE's training territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW).
Maria started out with the WWE in the 2004 WWE Diva Search.
Actually, the 2004 Diva Search was full of ladies that would go on to work for the WWE like Christy Hemme, Joy Giovanni, Amy Weber and Michelle McCool.

At the WWE PPV, Tables, Ladders & Chairs, Mickie James took on the champion Michelle McCool and Michelle came out on top to retain her title.

And on WWE Raw Monday night, there was a 7 on 7 Diva Match, which really turned out to be a Rosa versus Mickie wrestling match, with Mickie winning.

Afterwards, Maria won the Slammy Diva of the Year Award that was voted on by the fans.
As Maria was thanking the fans, Batista pulled a Kanye West and cut her off.

Before she joined the ranks of WWE Divas, Layla was a dancer for Carnival Cruise Lines, the NBA's Miami Heat and she also danced at the MTV Video Music Awards during a number by Kanye West.
Layla got into pro wrestler after her trainer suggested that she try out for the 2006 $250,000 WWE Diva Search.

Before former WWE Diva Torrie Wilson was...well a WWE Diva, she was a fitness competitor.
She placed third in the very first fitness competition she entered and went on to win the Miss Galaxy competition in 1998.
Well now she has released her own fitness product.
It's a new supplemental fat burner targeted towards women and it's called Diva Trim.
And you know, I think Torrie is her own best advertisement because she still looks amazing.
