I love American Idol and Season 10, which premiered on January 12, 2011, has the most exciting group of contestants I've ever seen in a long time, or ever. American Idol Season 10 has brought in a number of changes this year. I hate changes, don't you? When Simon Cowell left the show after last season, I almost cried - almost but not quite - but I was truly sad to see the witty Brit go. I loved Simon Cowell's brutal honesty, albeit bordering on meanness or rudeness depending on his moods, but he said it the way it was. Simon Cowell was arguably the best judge in American Idol and, without him, will the show survive? As I had said, I just hate changes. Heck, I was even upset when Paula Abdul left the show in 2009, with her sweetness, quirkiness and all. But lordy, her replacement, Ellen DeGeneres, although I love The Ellen DeGeneres Show, was just not good enough to be a judge. It was reported that when Ellen DeGeneres quit American Idol in July 2010, Kara DioGuardi was fired on the same day.

Ellen DeGeneres to Become Full-Time Judge on American Idol 2 years 36 weeks ago

Ellen DeGeneres. She's the funniest talk show host on the planet and she has a really hot wife.

Heck, she can even dance well, as Ellen is known to start each program with a bit of a boogie.

But, to our knowledge, the comedian has zero singing expertise, making her an odd choice to replace Paula Abdul as the fourth judge on American Idol. Still, that's exactly what's taken place, confirms Fox.

How this will affect rating we will have to wait ans see. Ellen DeGeneres is dancing her way into the fourth judge's seat on "American Idol."

Fox announced Wednesday the talk show host and comedian, who admittedly has no formal music experience, just a passion for tunes, will join Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi for the ninth season. The announcement all but seals the departure of Paula Abdul, the original third judge who announced she was quitting amid a contract dispute in July.

From now on, Ellen will be part of the world's most popular talent search. And as she puts it, she'll definitely not going to leave AI!
