Who Is John Galt? Hell, as it turns out, a widow maker is many things and to many different people - mostly it depends on what your profession is. You see, many professions have their own "widow maker."

I think that it's very safe to say that a widow maker isn't very safe to use, or be a part of, to be around, or to employee or sleep with.

Avoid widow makers, and your wife won't be a widow. It's the same if you are a straight (God help me - these "politically correct" days of our lives are killing me, political correctness could become a widow maker!) woman. . . .then call it a damn "widower maker," if you want to.

For me, an hvac guy by trade, a widow maker is simply an electrical adapter to incorrectly reduce two hundred and forty volt current down to one hundred an ten volt current. it's only not very safe or advisable to use one.

You sometimes HAVE TO use one though, as there sometimes is no other choice for getting the damned job done. Capice?

The adapter could be called a "pig tail," but that sounds too much to me like undercover cops following you around, or something. Use your imagination.
